Let me tell you another point. You must have a little EGO! Not more than little. It helps you to be confident. I have tried it. It works!

3. Have a strong topic to discuss. After you finish it, then you talk whatever you want.

4. Don't go immediately to talk. Keep an eye on him. Sometimes you cannot say in which mood the person is. So be careful.
