One of the greatest scientists, a former president and the Missile Man of India Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam had a dream that India will become a developed country by the year 2020.
Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam had prepared the 'India's Mission 2020'; documentation on how the dream of developed India will be fulfilled.
But unfortunately, due to some unforeseen circumstances, India as of today still lies in the 'developing' category.
This documentation was prepared by the Technology Information, Forecasting and Assessment Council under the chairmanship of Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam which consisted of a team of 500 experts.
The fundamental aim of the documentation was to transform India into a developed country.
The documentation identified 5 key areas or sectors of India which would greatly strengthen the country.
Also, it stated that if India manages to integrate its natural resources and human resource, it could easily double its GDP growth.
5 Key Sectors that will Transform India into a Developed Country:
1. Agriculture and Food Processing
The primary aim in this sector was to double the amount of processing of agricultural products and food.

The Agricultural sector is the second-largest contributor to the GDP of India even during the pandemic because of its producing capability and exports.
Recently the 3 Farm Bills proposed in the parliament focused on liberalizing the farming practices where a farmer could by his own individually sign a contract with a corporate company for growing the desired crop on his field.
But unfortunately, due to confusion and fake rumors, a farmer's agitation had begun which proved to hinder the development in this sector.
The present Government of India has launched a 'Mega Food Park Scheme' where already more than 37 food parks have been sanctioned.
But due to loopholes and mismanagement in the functioning of various bodies, the figures released by the government say that India approximately wastes about $14 Billion Dollars worth of food each year.
2. Infrastructure and Electric Power
Certainly from the beginning of the year 2015, this sector has received a lot of attention from the government and the primary focus is on the generation of electricity by solar power.
India is completely ready to achieve its target of 175GW of the power capacity of solar infrastructure by 2022.
The huge quantity of Large-Scale construction of solar parks is being done like never before starting from the end of 2014.
The Bhadla Solar Park will be the biggest solar park in the world situated in Rajasthan is nearing completion and is said to have a capacity of 2,225 MW of power.
New floating solar parks are being set up in states like Madhya Pradesh.
As per the official data, all villages of India are now equipped with at least 18-20 hours of non-stop power supply.
Talking about infrastructure development, India has already opened some of its newly constructed 'Dedicated Freight Corridors' which increase the efficiency of freight trains in India.
India is also setting new records in the construction and development of infrastructure to ease the foreign companies to set up their manufacturing units in the country.
The Indian Railways have set up a goal to become 100% electric by 2023.
3. Education and Healthcare
Healthcare has proven to be the most crucial factor as well as a Weapon for India to show its immense capability to the whole world.
The healthcare system of India has been given a Top Priority in the latest BUdget of 2021.
The budget allocated for Healthcare and Family Welfare is about Rs. 71,269 Crores, which is almost an increase of 9.6% compared to the previous budget allocated at Rs. 65,012 Crores.
The new NEP (National Education Policy) is said to bring reforms that were demanded for a long time and claims that it will help students in shaping their career and studies in a much better way.
4. Strong ICT and E-Governance
Under this sector, strong reforms were taken to strengthen remote education and e-governance.
India has seen huge developments in this sector and is called the IT Hub of the world.
The Bengaluru city has been nicknamed the Silicon Valley of India.
The startup ecosystem has been improved a lot in recent times and certainly, India has become a one-stop destination for global tech giants and multi-billion dollar companies.
5. Nuclear, Defence and Space Technology
The nuclear, defence, and space technologies within India have seen a lot of developments and boosts towards research and development.
